DEC 04  LO DESERT ROCK SHOW, JOKE'S ON US VOTED BEST ALBUM

Well, Stickyfest was awesome, so was our gig with D.R.I. and we also had a great Black Friday show at the Hood Bar with Perishment (check out their new album), Mega Sun and In The Name Of The Dead. We've also been working on some secret stuff which will probably come to fruition early next year. And we're super stoked to have The Joke's On Us voted Best Album of the whole freakin' year by Coachella Valley Independent.

It's no secret that we love our neighbors in the Coachella Valley scene. So we're honored to be included in this amazing show at the Viper Room. It was put together by Phil Lacombe at CV Weekly and Mikey Doling, head of JaxxRock Entertainment and also guitarist in Snot, Channel Zero and formerly Soulfly. Word on the street is that there's gonna be a party bus from the Desert to Hollywood. Hit up CV Weekly on social media for more info on that. This is going to be our last show of the year, so come out and get crazy!

MUSIC

It's been a while since we've updated you guys. A couple weeks after our last update, our hometown of Idyllwild was suddenly threatened by a massive fire that was set by an arsonist on July 25th, 2018. Our local first responders did a fantastic job fighting the blaze until help could arrive from nearby. The town was saved, but over 13,000 acres of forest were destroyed, along with multiple homes in the Mountain Center area. It was a devastating loss felt by the entire community, but the town banded together. In less than three weeks, TTG guitarist Brian "Puke" Parnell put a team together and organized the Idyllwild Strong benefit festival - a three day event featuring 80 bands at 12 different venues in town - which has raised nearly $40,000 for victims of the fire. Throw The Goat performed at the festival along with other local musicians and groups from the Coachella Valley, Hemet, Riverside, Orange County and all over Southern California. Regurgitation Records also released a benefit compilation album, featuring songs donated by bands who played the festival and others who wanted to help the cause.

JULY 05  CRUSHED WARPED TOUR OPENING DAY AND TURNED 7

Many thanks once again to Kevin Lyman and the amazing VWT staff for giving TTG a shot on the opening day of the last hurrah. We had an awesome time and played a killer show. Shout out to the Goat ladies who helped run the merch booth. It was the talk of the fest!

We spent some quality time in the press pit after the set and will keep you guys posted on the interviews as they surface. But here's a couple photos of our set from HighWire Daze

We've got a few sporadic shows coming up while we work on some big stuff for later in the year. This train keeps a-rollin' and we're starting to build up steam. We just marked our 7 year anniversary as a band a week ago. It's truly an honor to be able to do this music thing with the support of all of you, some who have been with us since day one and others who are just joining the Tribe. We are stronger than ever and getting ready to do some pretty serious shit. More on that later. For now, keep your eyes peeled for new tour dates add us on Spotify, share our posts on our socials, tell people to join the mailing list and keep requesting our songs to your local heavy rock stations and spread the TTG fever!

JUN 07  TTG WINS BEST PUNK BAND AT CVMAs, WARPED IS NEXT

What a crazy three weeks it's been! Costa Rica was amazing. The show was super intense, the crowd was nuts, everything went off great and was a huge success. Thank you again to Ben Ziegler, to Sharky's Tamarindo and everyone who made it such a memorable experience. We had a couple days off to compose ourselves before heading out to Las Vegas for Punk Rock Bowling. We didn't play this year (maybe next year? *hint hint, Mark*) but Throw The Goat does have another incarnation as a bowling team. And it just so happens that team TTG won 3rd place in the PRB bowling tournament!

Team TTG wins 3rd place in the Punk Rock Bowling tournament

Once again, we only had a few days to recover from Memorial Day weekend before we had to be back at it. Friday, June 1st, we had a gig at the Hood Bar in Palm Desert, followed by the Coachella Valley Music Awards on Sunday, June 3rd, where we had a performance and were also nominated in multiple categories. We tore down the house and had a front row mosh pit of very well dressed people, then came away with our first award at the CVMAs for Best Punk Band! Thank you again to Tracy, Phil and everyone at CV Weekly and to everyone who voted for us. Here's a pic of us with our sweet trophies and a cameo by Mr. Jaxxrock Entertainment himself, Mikey Doling.

If all that wasn't enough, the next thing on our plate is two weeks away at the Pomona Fairplex on 6/21 when we play the Full Sail stage at VANS WARPED TOUR!!! We're beyond excited for this one. It's been a dream of ours since day one with this band. I'm sure lots of you can remember the Warped Tour BOTB that we've put you through in the past. So stressful and competitive and eventually heartbreaking. Well, no more! We got in on our own merits and couldn't be more grateful to Kevin Lyman and his team for giving us this opportunity. Click here to get your tickets. Remember, this is the last touring version of Vans Warped Tour. This is your one and only chance to come see us play the festival that changed everything. And not only us, but tons of other bands. But if the festival scene isn't quite your jam, then maybe you'd rather come see us on 6/23 at the Hood Bar for the Desert Rock Radio 2 year anniversary party. We're playing with Dali's Llama, BigPig, Sleazy Cortez and LVNGCRVSHER. It's a free show and gonna be tons of fun! Be there.

MAY 13  HAPPY MOTHERS DAY FROM TTG, SEE YOU IN COSTA RICA

We had a blast on Friday playing with Agent Orange and Narcoleptic Youth at the Doll Hut in Anaheim, CA!! This week we'll be flying down to Costa Rica to be main support for Agent Orange at a charity event in Playa Tamarindo on the 20th! It's great to get to play in CR again and an honor to be sharing the new stage at Sharky's with such a legendary band. Last time we played Sharky's we actually covered the song Bloodstains. This time we'll leave it to the professionals! After we return it's basically straight out to Las Vegas for Punk Rock Bowling. We're not playing this year, just going to drink and bowl and rock out. So things might be a little quiet around here for a couple weeks, but we'll do our best keep you guys updated with pics and video along the way. After Memorial Day we'll be back at our favorite Palm Desert haunt, the Hood Bar, on June 1st. Anyway, back to packing!!!

APR 22  NEW LYRIC VIDEO ON EARTH DAY FOR THE SONG MELT AWAY

Since nobody seems to give a shit about Earth Day this year, we decided to put out this new lyric video for the song Melt Away. The song basically explains why we're all fucked, pinpoints the greed behind the changing climate and rising oceans, and the fact that everyone is going to "get wet" as a result of this corruption. Special guest appearance from current head of the EPA, Scott Pruitt. Enjoy!

MAR 10  TTG PLAYS VANS WARPED TOUR, SIGNS WITH MANAGEMENT

Where to start?! As we continue to patiently await the vinyl version of our new album, things continue to develop for TTG. We just recently partnered with Mikey Doling (guitarist for Snot, Channel Zero, ex-Soulfly) and his company, JAXXROCK Entertainment! Other bands on the roster include Motograter, P.D.P. and The DTEASE. Here's a pic of Mike and Puke with Mikey, after our first meeting. We're all pretty excited about it!

While we were having our meeting with Mikey, we also had our first magazine cover feature published by Coachella Valley Weekly! Thank you to Noe G. Gutierrez for having us over at Desert Music Headquarters for some beers, snacks, games and a long chat about the new album and where the band is headed. You can read the full article here.

The article happens to mention another exiting new development. This has been a dream of ours since the very beginning of the band and we couldn't be more excited to finally play the Vans Warped Tour! This is the final touring run of VWT and we encourage all of you to catch it before it's gone. While we in Throw The Goat won't be doing the tour, we're still very pleased to be playing opening day, June 21st, at Fairplex Pomona. Get tickets here!

If that weren't enough already, it turns out we'll be playing a couple shows this May with surf punk legends, Agent Orange! Coincidentally, Dave Klein (drummer for Agent Orange) was the mastermind behind the mastering of our new album. We're gonna be rocking the Doll Hut with AO, Narcoleptic Youth, Dead 77 and Guttersnipe Rebellion on May 11th. Then, a little over a week later, we're doing a huge charity gig with Agent Orange in Tamarindo, Costa Rica!!! It's been about 5 years since we last played CR and we're stoked to go back to Sharkys Bar and see their new venue space!

One last thing before we go... THE NEW VIDEO!!! Check out our brand new video for the song, HIGH, below. We had a blast playing Idyology in our hometown of Idyllwild and we're looking forward to our next gig there. More on that later. And more big news coming next week. Things are really taking off for us! Thank you so much to everyone who's been with us since day one, waiting for TTG to start picking up some real momentum. There's a lot more coming so stay tuned!

JAN 29  NEW ALBUM OUT NOW, RELEASE SHOW WAS RAD!

January has been an incredibly busy month for the Goat. We just got home from an awesome NAMM show in Anaheim, which coincided with a killer album release show at the Doll Hut on Thursday 1/25. Before that, we appeared on the Minnie Green Show on the 24th and on the Kaotic Radio show A Beautiful Disaster on the 23rd to do some promo for the album. From recording to release, this has been a whirlwind for us. Mike describes the whole process very profoundly in the third and final installment of our 3 part video series on the making of The Joke's On Us, which you can see below

We had a really good time at our album release party on 1/25 at the Doll Hut. It was a wild night for sure! The crowd was amazing, the vendors did great and the vibe was on point. The next day we were back at NAMM and seeing more of our sponsors, along with multiple super cool gear relationships in the making. We had a fantastic interview with our good friends at Rockwell UnScene which will be posted on tattoo.com and also shared with you all right here. We also made frequent stops over at the Ellefson Coffee Co. booth to see our new family at Combat Records and EMP Label Group. Here's a pic of Mike and Puke at the booth with Dave Ellefson and Thom Hazaert from the label!

It was also amazing to meet the rest of the EMP / Combat Records / Ellefson Coffee staff, plus the other bands on the label. There are definitely big things in the works and we'll keep you informed on all of that. We were stoked to get a bunch of copies of the Bullets leaflet that Combat will be distributing across the country at various events. Inside, it breaks down the contest that led to us getting the deal and also has this ad for The Joke's On Us!

We're pumped about our upcoming mini tour with The Sleeping Sea King this weekend! February 2nd at the Double Down Saloon in Las Vegas, 3rd at the Garage in Ventura and 4th at Pixels in Riverside. We're also playing Feb 11th at Brew Rebellion in San Bernardino and Feb 17th at our home away from home, the Hood Bar in Palm Desert. Looking up at the band calendar... we've actually got quite a few more shows than that lined up. But those are secret for now. Lots of things on the horizon. Oh yeah... new video soon!

JAN 03  MASSIVE NEWS FOR THE NEW YEAR AND ALBUM!

We are extremely pleased to announce that we won the grand prize of the Combat Records Band-To-Band Combat contest, which means our upcoming album will see an even BIGGER release than we'd be able to do on our own! We're also very happy to announce that our Preorder has been a huge success and is now at 120% of our goal! We'll have more details for you soon, but for now you might want to make sure that your calendar is marked for our album release show January 25th at the Doll Hut in Anaheim. You can also check our part two of our three part mini documentary about the making of the new album, The Joke's On Us. This episode focuses on guitarist, Brian "Puke" Parnell who also produced and mixed the album. Check it out below!
